FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about our photography workshops, tours and holidays.
HOW DO I BOOK?
You can either click on the BOOK NOW button to be taken to our secure bookings & reservations page where you can complete your booking and pay your deposit directly online or, email or telephone us to check availability and to request a booking form. Once dates confirmed, we'll send you a booking form to complete, which you'll need to return along with a cheque or Paypal payment of €500 EUROS or £350 GBP per person for the deposit.
6 to 8 weeks before the trip we'll send you some more information... itinerary, suggested packing list, etc... - at this point you will need to pay the balance on your holiday. In addition... as soon as you have all your travel details, please send them to us so we can organise airport transfers etc...
Visas & Travel Permits: All our current trips are within the European Union.. please ensure you have the necessary travel documents & Visas necessary to visit any EU country before booking your tickets and your place on one of our trips. We do not and cannot arrange these for you.
HOW DO I PAY?
You can pay either by cheque, bank transfer or credit card either using Paypal (see paypal.com)...
You can confirm your preferred payment method on your booking form.
CAN I STAY EXTRA NIGHTS AT THE HOTEL?
Yes of course... email me with your requirements and will try to arrange this for you... please note this is subject to the hotels availability.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You will receive a full list of suggested items of clothing and equipment when you sign up for a photo holiday... the only course for which you might need some more specialized equipment would be for one of the winter mountain photography courses where you would need appropriate winter mountain gear... boots, clothing etc..;
I'M ONLY A NOVICE; WILL I STILL BENEFIT FROM THE HOLIDAY?
Our courses, photography holidays, workshops and tours will only ever have a maximum of 4-5 participants which will give myself or any of our tutors plenty of scope for one-to-one tuition with each guest... so yes.... beginners, amateurs and even professionals can all benefit from the workshop;
WHAT LEVEL OF FITNESS IS REQUIRED?
Our courses, photography holidays, workshops and tours in general only require a moderate level of fitness... for the photography workshops in the mountains.. such as Pindos and Valia Kalda, it helps if you are reasonably fit so that we can take some of the more arduous trails to some amazing spots for photography.. having said that, we will only ever choose trails though that are within the whole groups ability. Trips to the islands require a much lesser level of fitness.
IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
If you have to cancel, your deposit is non-refundable unless we manage to fill your place between the time of your booking and the date of the trip in which case there is only a £50 admin fee.
If you have paid the total amount for your trip and have to cancel at the last minute or within 8 weeks of the trip... 50% of the total cost can be transferred to another tour or workshop as we will still be liable to pay for your hotels and transfers... this is again unless we are able to sell your place... in which case you would be refunded the whole amount minus the admin fee only.
We would strongly advise you to take out travel insurance for your holiday in case of flight delays and any other unforeseen and unforeseeable eventualities that may prevent you from being able to take part.... as well as health insurance to cover any unforseeable medical expenses;
CAN I BE SURE THAT THE ACCOMMODATION MENTIONED ON THE WEBSITE WILL BE WHAT I WILL RECEIVE?
For the most part... yes; However, occasionally the unforeseen does happen and it may be necessary to seek alternative accommodation... this will always, at a minimum, be of equivalent standard as that shown on our website.
This will in no way affect your photographic holiday, tour or workshop and unfortunately it is not possible for us to offer refunds should this happen...
WHAT CAMERA EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO HAVE?
Whilst you can still get pretty good results from a lot of todays higher end "point-and-shoot" cameras and only owning one of these certainly does not preclude you from our holidays, most benefit to your photographic skills would be derived with the use of even a basic DSLR and Lens kit.
WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?
Weather in Greece is fairly stable for the most part but in winter in the mountains... it can be unpredictable and unfortunately not within our control... do bear in mind though that frequently some of the best and most dramatic photos are in adverse weather conditions and so hopefully you will leave us having had a fabulous time with some cracking images for your portfolios whatever the weather..!
As for our trips to Scotland... that's not so easy to predict and can change in minutes even in the middle of summer.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAILOR A PHOTOGRAPHIC HOLIDAY FOR ONE PERSON OR A GROUP..?
It certainly is... call or Email us with your requirements and we will see what we can do for you... we also run non-photographic oriented guided walking tours and bird-watching tours and holidays throughout Greece and the islands... please email us for more details.
